Default A Kansas Castle

How many of you would think of Kansas as a place to find an actual castle? Well here it is. It was constructed by a local schoolteacher, rock by rock. It has a moat and stained glass and turrets and a lily pond and a functioning drawbridge. It sits close to an interstate highway but can be hard to see (except in the winter!) because it's surrounded by so many trees. Building the castle was a hobby and it contains many areas to relax and enjoy the flowers that bloom everywhere. It has become something of an "in" spot for local weddings. The first picture is taken looking over the moat. The second looks directly at the castle and shows one of the lilyponds. The third is of one of the bridges that cross the moat. (Not the drawbridge though)
Kids love to visit here and he welcomes visitors.

Very interesting. I would never have expected something like that in Kansas!

Hi,

It never ceases to amaze me to find people that have the will and drive to build unique structures, like this for others to enjoy.

I guess you can't say: Well Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore.
(I know, bad joke)

Thanks for sharing.
