Default There is a new Oly dSLR

Wonder why Steve's Digicams has nothing on the new Oly E-600?
(it seems to be an E620 "lite")

Default Thanks

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the heads up.

Not sure where they are headed with this one. Maybe Olympus thinks they need to keep their name in the news based on releases by the competition.

Actually zig, it makes more sense, when you realize it will replace all the current E-series from E520 and below.

The E-600 will be the entry level E system at a cheap price, and it appears to be a better camera for the money than the E420/E450/E520 that it replaces. It also means that the cheapest E camera will have image stabiliztion and 12.3 megapixels

Thanks for the heads up Steven. The E600 looks like a nice one.

It's a shame their sticking with the shallow grip. I held a E620 a few weeks ago and it seemed ready to slip out of my hand. I don't think I could use it with heavier glass (like the 11-22mm) with any confidence.

IMHO, it should be handled the same way as a "classic", manual film SLR.

Hi, Guys-

The E-600 will work very well for me and might even save some $$$. Who knew that I was the one consumer (ha-ha) that Olympus was focusing upon! Oh well, we will all do whatever is required to keep Oly alive.

At some times it is touch and go!
