Default Off Camera Flash

I've been toying with the idea of using off camera flash for a while now.

Since getting the E-30 and its remote capabilites, the itch has grown. I could have just bought a new FL50R, but thats rather expensive when all I need is a simple adjustable flash.

After playing with an associate's radio trigger and remote lighting setup recently, I was completely hooked. For the price of one new FL50R I was able to order 2 radio controlled flash setups (using my FL50 on one of them).

Today the radio trigger set arrived. Being eager to play with a new toy, I set up the FL50 on a light stand with a reflective umbrella. I dont have the other flash yet so I was just playing around with the one.

All I had was the dog to be my guinea pig, usually he runs off since he doesn't like the flash even when I bounce it, but I think having it off to the side confused him.

A few examples.

Off camera flashes and how to use them is a subject I know nothing about( one of many - grin) so I'll be very interested to see your subsequent posts on this subject.

As for your dog, the look on his face is priceless.
