Default My new 70 - 300mm Zuiko

Hey all,

My new 70 - 300mm zuiko arrived today. Have a bit of problem with it. It wouldnt zoom beyond 150mm. The zoom ring seems to get jammed 150mm. While in auto focus the lens does fully entend to 300mm.

Would appreciate if anyone can share their thoughts on that.

This comment comes up time after time after time after time, etc., at DPReview with new 70-300 owners, and I am sure it's the exact same thing in your case....you are not looking at the right scale.

The zoom setting is on the ring that you turn, not the barrell that moves out. That inner scale on the barrell that extends is the magnification scale when you get into the close focus range. IGNORE THE SCALE ON THE TUBE THAT EXTENDS! It means nothing to the zoom setting. It's the numbers on the ring you turn that you need to look at if you want to see the focal length you are zoomed to.

Great job, Greg. It's good when we can set someone's mind at ease.
