Default Went sightseeing this weekend.

My wife's longtime friend who hails from Plano Texas, flew in for the weekend. We decided to visit Chatham on Saturday as it is a rather picturesque location. Anyways, here are a few from the weekend;

First two are from yesterday morning at Sandy Neck about a half mile from the house
E-30 with 12-60mm SWD:

Chatham Commons

A rather unusual Arbor

When you go to the shore, ya gotta have a boat picture:

and of course a Lighthouse:

It is a pretty time of the year up there. Gorgeous shots.

Plano. That's just up the road from me. Around 10-15 minutes north....unless you try it in 5pm traffic.

Hi Steven, Sarah, Greg,

Thanks for your comments and taking the time to look.

Yes Greg, it really is a nice time of the year here.. The crowds are gone so you can move up and down the coast pretty easily. The skies, in the Fall, are really very colorful and-if you wake up early enough, you can catch an glorious sunrise.

Although, I really did notice how much warmer your area looks as opposed to where we are in Bob's great firefighters challenge gallery.

Unfortunately, we've had some severe blows these last couple of weeks and all the foliage is gone. What's left is pretty drab. Luckily, there's a lot of other photo opps here to take advantage..

And, there are always the birds.........

How do you get those wide shots? I suppose a different aspect ratio is chosen in the settings? I wonder if I have that on my e-620?

Actually, the landscape shots were taken with the 12-60SWD set at it's 12mm focal length. To enhance the pano effect, I just cropped the photo.

Here's another version of the same image just cropped differently:

This image is set to print out at 22" in length

Yes, I wore shorts and a t-shirt Saturday to the Texas Tech/Kansas football game in Lubbock, which is around 350 miles to the northwest up in the Texas panhandle, and it was warmer here in the DFW metroplex.
