Default Merry Christmas to everyone on the Oly forum!

To all the members of the Olympus forum, I just want to wish a Merry Christmas season to everyone, of all beliefs and faiths. May the season treat you well, and I hope Santa Claus visits you with new goodies (especially new Oly gear.)

This group is always appreciated for your comments and insight. Everyone is supportive and informative, and it is always a pleasure to look at the great photos that you share.

You are all a great group of guys and gals!

Best wishes and Merry Christmas to all!
Steven R.

(I'll share with you a shot from today of a Christmas Cactus in bloom on my patio. It just seems to fit the season.)

Default Hi Steven,

And a very healthy & happy holiday to you.

I wasn't able to reply to your post yesterday as we woke up to having lost our power with about 8" of snow on the ground. During the day we got another 8" of snow, so I figure, with any luck at all this might be our snowfall for the Winter (I wish).

This morning, I woke up to a Winter wonderland with sun out the skies just about all clear and pure white snow. Gonna try and get out to take a few shots before the snow turns gray and dirty.

Zig

BTW, great shot of Christmas cactus.

I was wondering how you fared up there, Zig. Looking forward to some shots.

zig: how long were you without your power? I assume it came back on because you were able to post. How did you stay warm? Keep us informed. (And when you are warm and toasty, go outside and take some shots for us to see.)

Hi Steven,
Thanks for your concern. The power shutdown around 2am and finally came back on around 2 in the afternoon. All in all we were very fortunate, in that the major part of the storm blew through in the middle of the night. That kept stranded cars on the highway down to a minimum and gave the electric company crews the ability to do their work without a lot of stuck vehicles blocking access to the affected locations.

Having grown up in New England, this is old hat to my wife and I. And, quite honestly, it's really beautiful this time of year. Of course, I'm retired, so don't have to get up early in the morning and trudge out to drive through this stuff. My outlook completely changed when I no longer had to work.

Now that I've got my chores done. I'm hoping to get out tomorrow am and take a few photos of the scenery
