Default A simple matter of size

A bit too cold outdoors the last few days to do anything but run to the car and then run back from the car, inside. As a result, I haven't had much opportunity to shoot anything interesting. But Greg's macro post got me thinking about size being a matter of degrees at times.

The following is not a macro yet the subject matter is rather small. To put some sense of scale, the dime was added.

Taken with an E-30, 12-60mm SWD, FL-36 flash. I love using this lens.

Great photo, Zig-

That 12-60 is a real winner. Now all I need is a really rich uncle, or aunt, I'm not picky.

Default Wow, the little is SMALL

And it is a matter of scale. Without the dime and shot individually could definately lead to wrong conclusions.

Side note:
I'm a fan of Zig's flys!

Thanks Sarah. I've also been looking a rich relative with lots of bucks- no such luck. I've turned to occasionally buying lottery tickets-but that hasn't been anymore successful.

Guess I'll grin and bear it.....

Hi Greg,

When I take photos of some of the flies I've tied, I altogether too often forget to add something that can define the sense of scale. Some of the trout flies I've tied over the years are pretty tiny. What amazes me more is anyone can hook and land a fish on a fly that small.

BTW, thanks. I enjoy viewing the quality of the images you regularly post.
They provide inspiration to us all.

....I had an uncle AND an aunt, turns out I knew neither, my mission toward 'stuff accumulation' is to convince my Bonnie that I NEED these things, it is a health issue.... and me having some of these will keep her HAPPY. It is called 'shopping retaliation' around here.

Merry Christmas !

Zig, I took a look at that gallery (and some others of friends) just yesterday while playing with an iMac 27" machine. Now, I am beginning to WANT an iMac 27 and have already mentioned it to Bonnie, her response was, "it isn't too late to send Santa a letter, see if he has any not spoken for".

Well Bob,

Sounds like Mrs Santa might just see to it that you get your wish.

(smile)

And I do hope you get one. The new IMacs are just a beautifully designed machine. The designers and engineers at Apple 'just get it' when it comes to designing a product. I have an IPod, the IMac 21.5 and my wife has an IPhone.
All of these are the best in their class. I marvel at how easy they are to use-right out of the box.

.... I have the 3Gs iPhone, quite a machine. The smaller iMacs would be perfect but the 27 is the one I would get. Gotta somehow rationalize this, it is stressful.... oh but it would be healthy to have wouldn't it?

Gotta go get started cooking, having all the family here tonight as is usual but instead of the usual 'light' supper I am doing a full traditional with turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn casserole........ you get the idea. This is because my grandson Zach missed Thanksgiving (he worked (medic) the Cowboys game) and is working tomorrow, so for 'Z' we are having a full sit down culinary infusion tonight. Then off to the regular family get together tomorrow about 20 miles South, hope it doesn't snow us in.......................
