Default hope you weathering the storm

Hi Ted,

After seeing the news reports of what's been happening in the Mid-Atlantic, I can understand why the Nat'l Weather Service created a new icon just for this storm.

Hope your doing okay.

Hi, Zig

We did OK - only lost power for an hour yesterday. But I live close to a main road so the repair crews could get to the lines here - other folks weren't so lucky and were out for a day. Still, they did an amazing job considering it was the 4th worst snowstorm on record here (since the late 1880s).

Here's my backyard today. I had cleared off the table once, halfway through the blizzard yasterday. The mound just behind the table is a lounge chair. My neighbor's old pine trees are really hurting...

Default Yep, that's snow alright!

Hi Ted,

Looks like a beautiful day- somewhere in Northern Vermont!

I heard a man on the street interview last night on the news of a Washington DC resident. The interviewer asked: what his take was on the snow, He said he felt like a 'turtle trying to go through peanut butter'

Except that in northern Vermont you get go skiing. (grin)

We have another 5" of snow forecast for Tuesday night. Jeez I miss northern Arizona.

Meanwhile, here in Dallas people were sailing today! It wasn't the type weather I'd go sailing in, but that would be never. I'd rather stand on the hill and just shoot them....sort-of.

Default Greetings from White-Out Central

Yes, we're in another blizzard here in the DC area. This one will probably only drop 1.5' of snow, so we figured it would be a candy-ass storm compared to the last one that dropped some 2.5'. But this one is intense with high winds - the power companies have pulled their crews out until the wind dies down.

Here's my back yard, which is somewhat protected from wind. I hate to think about being out in an open area...

We haven't lost power yet - so far, so good.

But that's like the old joke about what the guy says on the way down after he falls off of the roof of a tall building - "So far, so good".

(grin)

Ted
Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humor throughout this mayhem.
We were lucky as the last storm slipped by to the South of us. This one's comin' right at us. Your post also reminded me to fill up the water jugs 'cause when we lose power, we'll lose our heat and water too.

By the way, your picture sure tells the story.

Zig
