Default Another eagle at 800mm

Had the chance to test out the combo again a little yesterday. Not the best weather as it was cloudy which meant not as much light to focus and made the Tokina purple fringe problem worse. I took the advice of Harj and tried shooting stopped down more, both at f11 and f8. F11 does seem sharper but it's hard to tell. I did notice the purple fringe goes away at f8 though the tendency of the Tokia to turn gray purple against a cloudy sky didn't.

Here's a couple of the shots of a juvenile Bald Eagle. It was eating something small but I'm not sure what, i was on the way back to the car when I spotted it. I had a hard time focusing while it was eating, I do better when it's in profile and I can see the eye and beak. Also the first one was too wide open, got caught up in the moment and forgot to stop down more. I'm happy with the second one. All in all I got about a dozen decent shots and a few good ones out of around 2-3 times that so not bad in my book. Both are crops of a horizontal pic. With my crappy tripod I don;t even try portrait shots.

I really should've changed the WB to Cloudy before I developed these but was in a hurry. I'll have to re-do them sometime but for now I'm sure you all have shot enough to know how much better it would look
