Default Recovery software

Anyone know of a good recovery program for getting deleted files off of a CF card? Somehow I managed to delete all of todays pics and not the 4 I thought I had selected and while nothing there was critical it may just be a matter of time before I delete something I really shouldn't. I tried a demo of Card Recovery but wasn't impressed.

Well, I can't sleep...so you're in luck...if this works.

JimC has a sticky post about this in the memory card section of the forum. Here's a direct link.

....I've had good results recovering data from 'camera erased' mem cards with PareToLogic. Recently I recovered approx 80% (non-fragmented), 750 files of 900+ using the non-pro version.

Once extracted file naming convention will be in a numerical sequence with a common extension relevant to the software app because the indices were written over (suggesting the data were erased too). An excellent FREE app for MASS renaming file(s) extension e.g. jpg is Extension Renamer found at

Thanks guys. I never thought to look in the memory card forum, doh! I'll try the free one first and see if that works. Biggest thing will be that if it does it'll recover all the stuff I really don't want as well.

Took the better part of 3 hrs but the software worked, recovered 120 deleted files along with all the others. I kept 25. Moral of story? Read the delete confirmation to make sure it's the number of pics you think it is BEFORE hitting okay.

Great!

Heh heh! Every time I do something like this I remind myself to be more careful. Then, at some point in the future, esp. if I'm tired...BLAM!
