Default First Test Shot Taken

With an Oly E420. I bought this camera yesterday at a local Walmart store. The weather was bad, so I decided to go with my son. Glad I did. This camera was is in a clearence display with twelve P&S cameras. The sales person told me that they just completed a remod and the cameras were half price. Paid $160.00 for the camera with a 14-42mm kit lens. I just could not pass on that deal. Sure it is an entry level DSLR, but for the price who cares. Ran home and took a few RAW-JPEG test shots before the sky opened up. Will go to St. Lou on monday to see what this puppy can really do. The photo below is the first test shot...

What a bargain! You really lucked out with that one!

Ominous clouds in that image. Nice shot!

Default Congrats

The 14-42mm lens alone normally sells for around 225bucks new. Congrats on 'hunting' down a ridiculously good deal.

Zig

On another note, your image looks like an HDR image. Is this correct or did you use another process?

The colors do look a bit vivid-not a critique. Just curious how it was achieved.

oh my god that is a rediculously good deal.

and the e420 is the smalled dslr camera they make, so makes a nice travel companion, and a great 2nd body if you stay in the 4/3 system

Thanks everyone. The test shot was a single RAW image. Converted into 3 TIFFS. Photomatix was used. The wind was blowing 20-30 miles. You can see the effect on the tree leaves...

pretty good deal, my local walmart also has the 420 kit on clearance, but I already have one. the 420 is a great hiking & walking camera, add a carbon fiber tripod & you have a super light kit capable of great images.
