Who's mommy and daddy owns the better pony?

Stayed out too late Saturday night..

Discussing the strategy in the paddock. Shot with the 50-200 SWD and EC20 at 294mm..

At 200mm with the lens only..

Then executing on the track..

I do really like the look of the grey thoroughbreds..

From across the main track to the turf course, captured with the 50-200 SWD and EC20 at 338mm..

....hi Greg,

You had a beautiful day for making these, the EC20 works well with the 50-200. I like the grays too and that photo is a beaut.

Hi Greg,

Wonderfully sharp gallery of images.

It is difficult for me to see any reduction in IQ when using the EC-20 on the 50-200mm. Both the lens and the telecon are that good.

A case in point, I hadn't noticed that you even used the EC-20 in any of the shots until Bob commented on it. I had to go back and review the images again. And, I still don't see any difference in IQ.

I've tried using the EC-20 with other lenses, specifically the Sigma 135-400mm and the results are not nearly the same.

You certainly get the most out of your equipment, Greg. great shots! I was never fond of converters but the Oly's are exceptions.

Not so well! This was shot just out of the final turn and he finished out of the money.

Default C'est dommage...

That's too bad.... he seems like a little guy, younger & smaller than the rest and I guess I was rooting for him as an under-dog !

Handsome little feller too.... Maybe his day will come yet !

WOW.

this set really is impressive Greg, not only did your equipment hold up their end, but you did as well. the clarity and contrast throughout the set is spot on.

and the action you captured is really special. loving #1, #8, #9, some of the best horse racing shots i have seen on here.
