Been lurking around here for a little while, reading all your good advice..specifically on the e-520 and the 70-300...I'm a relative newcomer to olympus (4 months) and am just getting the hang ...... just
I've been reading about how good f8 is but err the weather hasn't been bright enough for that here yet..
I'm still practising on the local wildlife.....

Welcome aboard Alexs. The forum is full of interesting, informative, and friendly people.

I liked your bird shots. Looks like you have been shooting for more than 4 months.

thanks all,
no not new to birds just to using the oly....
So far i'm loving the 70-300 but with mixed results, ie; not many keepers... same thing happened when I had a nikon 18-200, thought it wasn't very sharp, then went on hols to australia and got loads of good shots. I didn't suddenly improve ,it was the better light. I'm hoping to get to know how to get the best from this lens...by lurking around the advice on here. perhaps the 520 doesn't get the best out of the light?
Anyway, thanks
alex
