Default Before & After sunset

Nothing earth shattering, just a couple of pics from tonight's sunset. The interesting part to me, is this particular view has not been visible from this location for probably 40 years or more, but thanks (ironically) to a timber company clear cutting the steep mountain side within this past week, which allowed me this view to photograph.

The steam & smoke in the distance is from Hatfield coal power plant, this plant supplies electricity to New York, about 400 miles away. (Never could figure out the "power grid philosophy" of the U.S.) E-3, 40-150mm(original), raw processed in viewer2, slight dodge of steam in elements 7.

Doesn't that happen only where you are viewing over open ocean? I know it happens in Hawaii, at least foe sunrise.

Nice pics Charles, I like the concept (and the execution) Well done.

I've witnessed the Green flash a few times, mostley in warmer climes. Up north it's not seen as often.

Both good images with lots of color. I like!

I guess there is some benefit in clear cutting after all..........
