Default Sunset at the Lake

I tookthese during this past month at Milford Lake, a couple of miles from my home. One is (obviously!) a sunset shot at one of the coves. The other was quite a treat-I got to ride in an antique open cockpit biplane and got this shot from the air on a perfect day.
I've been using an E510 for a couple of years and have just ordered an E620 (A QVC "today's special value) so am anxious to get the new camera and do some comparison. One nice thing about QVC, I can shoot the heck out of that sucker for 30 days and if I don't see a difference/better features, etc, I can send it back. Can hardly wait!

Two totally different and nice photos.
Pretty exciting geting out in the old biplane, I'll bet.

....these are great, I like them both very much but the second is unique and gets my attention of the two. Well done and the ride had to be a lot of fun.

On my bucket list, I've long ago written that I want to take a ride on the 'Red Baron'- a vintage bi-plane that offers rides, here on Cape Cod. I think it would be a blast to bring the camera along and try to take some images from a different perspective.

Your image is a good reminder that I need to do that........soon!

Nice sunset with good use of natural framing. From the paint and the interwing strut configuration the antique biplane was a Stearman.

Aerial photography is a lot of fun, but you tend to need a cooperative pilot who will roll the plane when you ask him/her to, so you can shoot without the wing in the way. Or ride in a plane with only an overhead wing.

You can get some interesting, almost abstract photos:

Hi Ted,

Nice shot. What part of the world am I looking at?

Northwestern Arizona. This is where the Colorado River starts Lake Meade, near Las Vegas.

Kodachrome, October 1979. The colors in the slide are as good 31 years later as when I shot it. Ironically, the hard drives holding my digital images won't be operable 30 years from now.

I like both shots a lot .. a very nice sunset ... a cracking shot if you ask me the colours just go pow !

The pic from the plane is really cool.. I'd love to be able to take one of those!
