Default Calm before the storm

Calm before the storm. With Earl's eye arriving Saturday morning around 2am
I thought it would be appropriate to show a photo of what I normally see at sunrise, this time of year.

Something tells me that it won't look as serene when I go to the beach Saturday morning

Zig

What a nice sense of solitude in that shot. We'll all be hoping the storm stays far enough away to avoid damage to your home.

Wonderful image, Zig. I truly hope that it's the same on Sunday!

Great sunrise. The walkway in the foregrounds works well with the shot. And keeps it interesting.

Earl should pass NY by Saturday. It should make for a interesting next couple of days.

Great shot Zig, that is about the only thing I miss about New England area is the sunrises over the ocean. Hope you do not get hit to hard up there by the storm.

Good morning guys and thank you all for the comments.

Well, it's like 'all is quiet on the Western Front' this morning. Very foggy, little to no wind, the only thing I'm hearing are a few crows talking amongst themselves.

Going to go out to the beach this morning to take a photo or two before the storm.

Earl is tracking a bit more to the East today-that's good news. The storm appears to be weakening somewhat- more good news.

Zig

Lovely Shot ! Peaceful feeling is what I am getting looking at it even if I think the walk is a bit dark! I can see a beach fire out there after all this storm watch is over!...Love it! I can even see a few in your shot as well as well as that heart that is partly hidden to the right in the clouds!

Imagine what it was like before the trackers and forecasters were around. I'd be taking the grandkids for a weekend camping trip to the beach........

Great photo Ziggy, Terrific location for the shot and great composition.

Keep your shorts dry..!

The Chinese Government closed all the Shanghai Schools this week for Typhoon Kompasu. My daughter and son in law teach there. It's supposed to be weakening as it comes in but I haven't heard from her for a couple of days.
I'm not worried at all, they're smart people and I'm sure communications from there will be delayed.

Hey Zig, as of this morning it looks like you will have to duke it out with Earl much less than earlier forecasts.
