Default Searching out the small stuff...

It's been so hot around here all summer, you don't go to the park these days and find tons of color everywhere, but if you look close enough and have an extension tube to get even closer...like the E30 and 50-200 SWD + EX25...

This one the lens was zoomed to 200mm and I was 3-4 feet away, close to the maximum distance you can be away from the subject and still focus with the EX25 fitted.

Hi Greg,

It is fascinating to me how people are drawn to certain specific images. I, for one, really like your lead photo. The detail of the petals help to convey just how fragile the bloom is. The color is just perfect to my eyes- it is soft yet very deep.

The other thing that I've noticed is, what looks to be, a hand reaching out of the bloom to the left of center.

Your images continue to remind me why I bought the Olympus fourthirds system in the first place as well as why I love the 50-200mm lens.

Thanks for posting.

Zig

One quick question. Are your still using ACR 6.2 to do the bulk of your PP work?

I find that once I've made my adjustments in ACR 6.2, I'm pretty much done, other than to crop the size to suit and to tweak the USM.

Hi, Zig. Thanks.

I rarely do anything in Photoshop. I even crop and sharpen in ACR. The crop tool in particular is excellent. The "overlay" option gives you a rule of thirds graph you can use to improve the composition, and any crop you do in ACR is something you can always change or remove to get back to the original file.

Love the blues int the first one a waller for sure I sure would hang it in a room that is either pure white with just the blue from the shot or in a baby blue a few shades lighter... my soul can see that! Great shots all of them.
