Hi Steven,

Geez, this guy has taken some pretty impressive photographs. Gives me pause for thought .

Thanks for the link. I've already bookmarked his site.

I've just been wandering through his "Very impressive site" He really gets out there and does it. A lot of shots, seem to have been taken out in the field. I'd get more fun out of that but you really have to dedicate time.
His main bird lens I notice is a Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F2.8 (Built to Order) sometimes with the EC14.
This lens runs a mere $6,999.99 (almost 7k )

I'm not bitchin of course, this guy could shoot better with a camera phone than I can with my 70-300 stuttering glass...Just must be nice...

He does have good words for the 50-200 also.

So I finally made time to email "Olympus Repair" about my "Stuttering Auto Focus" Got that way it wouldn't lock on at all. And manual had too much of a jump while trying to fine tune.
They sent a nice reply and say they have a flat rate price to repair the 70-300mm F4-5.6 lens @ $94.85 plus local tax and that includes return shipping via UPS.

So tomorrow I'll take it down to the UPS office and have then do it. I can't upgrade quite yet and it's just a lump of glass and plastic right now..

....glad you're getting it fixed. Even though I don't use mine a lot (hmmmm, I'm not using anything a lot these days) if it were broken I would then miss it much.

Got a blast from the past this week. Friend of mine from school, the paras, New Zealand and aircraft work found me. It's been fun playing catch up. He's living in Oz now on the Gold Coast. He sent this photo this morning with no note. Self explanitory really.
He's in the centre I'm on the left, from prolly 50 years ago. Oh my, just children!

Wow. How long did it take you to play back those memories in your mind?

Hah! I believe you - my brain started doing the same with my memories, just based on your post from the same time period. I wish I had photos from my time in the US Navy, but I was usually the photographer not the subject.

I'm curious - with your international background, how did you end up living in the US? (You're welcome to tell me it's none of my business.)

Ted
