Default Despite giving Steven a hard time

I have to say that there's an excellent thing coming out of the Tampa-St. Pete area. If you haven't seen it, go to the non-partisan Politifact.com web site. Outstanding if you care about US politics.

We played hookey the other day and took a book and my little Oly point and shoot for a picnic to Deception Pass Park. Or Decrepit Pass as my old mum once called it and forever became that to us. Had a nice walk along the north (pebbley) beach with views of the bridge over the pass. The pass is the northern exit for all the water in the Puget sound when the tide runs. The big "standing" waves and whirlpools are quite immpressive, in both directions when the tides change. The salmon are running now that's why the boats are there.

We went around to the (Sandy) Pacific beach for our picnic and and found a sunny spot to read for a while. It was getting quite chilly out of the sun.

A grand day out..!!!

I had to put these in the off topic thread, not in the DSLR forum...

Well, I saw that the Dollar hit a new low against the Yen today. Unless it recovers soon, everyone will soon see upward price pressure on most photographic equipment.

Ken, please stop posting pix of that part of the country. It's one of the most beautiful areas in North America, your photos are excellent, and it's driving me crazy.

Default I want to apologize

to our Canadian friends for the latest idiocy from the US government. (The $5.50 tax a Canadian would pay to visit the US if the law is passed.)

$5.50 is not much ... Maybe I should start a cover charge for my friends when they visit us ... and we will see how long it will last (not the cover charge but the friends).

Joke apart, Canadians visiting the USA are usually spending money there ... so I don't understand why overtaxing them ...

Default Gee, what has Olympus started??

Think back a few years to the start of the Micro 4/3 and mirrorless systems. Now Fuji is jumping into the ILC mirrorless market in early 2012.

http://translate.google.com/translat...05_481838.html

And in another Japanese location, per a Google translation, a Japanese research institute expects mirrorless SLR system sales to exceed conventional SLR by the year 2015.
