Great! One thing I'd like to know is how you keep light off of the velvet while keeping the flower lit well.

It all sounds good to me. And I would always enjoy discussion of PP and software, so I could learn. I don't do much PP strictly from a time standpoint, only so much available for the photography and it competes with the time required for less interesting things. I don't have any of the expensive software, but I do have a couple of PP package that I use from time to time. Always interested in learning techniques that I could put to later use, including lighting and home studio setups.

I angle the velvet so I get minimum reflection, Ted. PP adjusting takes care of the rest very easily.

Default Kirk Tuck only uses EVFs now

He's one pro whose opinions I really listen to, since his view of equipment mostly is not as a fanboy but whether it does what you need or not. I've not been enthusiastic about EVFs but I found this article very interesting:

I bought 3 batteries ($18 net) because he left a review on Amazon, they've worked exactly as he described....... PERFECTLY and equal to the ones with OLYMPUS molded into the shell.

They must. The population decreases yearly in Florida.

LOL. the road is curving up a slight hill, can't be Florida, and the alligators definitely look like Louisiana or Texas gators.
