Default 3 from today

These were done today, in a snow storm of sorts, it is western Washington so it's more like white rain. Taken with the E-1 (weather sealing is so nice at times) and a Vivitar 120-600mm lens all at 600/f11 ISO 800 with a monopod for support. I haven't used the E-1 with anything other than the Tamron 80-200 for awhile. Shooting it with this lens was easier than I thought it would be given the small aperture and the lousy light. However i find that the ISO of the E-1 is well behind what it is with my K100D and so I'm not as pleased with these shots as I had hoped. Taken with with better light at 400 they would be good, but 800 is pushing it in this light with this combo. Still, it was great to be out in the cold and wet taking pics Enjoy.

John

Hey John: 600mm in overcast cold weather and snow with just a mono-pod? Yes, the E-1 is still a viable camera. Good capture in difficult lighting and conditions.

Thanks guys. I love the E-1, it is my favorite camera to shoot, the shutter is just so sweet but it does better at 400 and below for sure.

Snowing here as well, actually real snow, sticking and everything.

John

ps it was actually a 'duo-pod', my Indura tripod with two of the legs extended. I find it works well like that and if I need I can set it up as a tripod. No way with the hawk though, they are too skittish, I'm surprised it let me get the shots i did.
