Default Whatever happened to Andrzej Wrotniak?

Well, it's been almost a year since Andrzej Wrotniak has made any entry in any section of his website; Wrotniak.net. It's unfortunate, as his site was (and continues to be) a treasure trove to many folks like me, who were new to the world of digital photography in general and were seeking a better understanding of the Olympus digital slr cameras as well as the associated equipment.

Alongside with Steve's Digicams website, Wrotniak.net was a place I visited every morning looking for his take on a new camera release or new lens and how best to get the most out of it.

For those of you who are not familiar with www.Wrotniak.net, do visit when you've got a chance. it will be worth your time and effort.

I recall this post from a while back over at DPReview...

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...=wrotniak&qf=m

Who knows when/if he'll ever get back at it on that site, but at least he has kept what's out there available.

Hi Greg,

Thanks for the link. I've stopped visiting DPReview so did not catch that.

Default You have no idea

I can tell you from my personal, similar experience that Andrzej would not be abandoning his web site intentionally or if he is, it would be with a lot of pain.

Although Iíve lived in many places (although probably not as many as Ken) Iím basically a northern Arizona guy. The main reason (although there were many) was that after midnight in my backyard I could see the Milky Way Ė Sedona has very strict rules against extraneous night lighting. So I had and used two semi-professional telescopes with associated eyepieces (you think you spend money on terrestrial camera lenses? HAH! You have no ideaÖ)

My point here is that I set up and maintained a web site for amateur telescope users that won a number of awards and has well over a million hits, which is damn good for a specialized site like that. Then I had to move east to an urban area where Iím lucky to be able to see a friggin full moon at night. I havenít used my scopes in three years and I almost cry whenever I look at the sky at night here.

My scope site is still up, like Andrzejís Oly site. I canít take it down because I get many emails thanking me for it. But thinking about it is to this day a painful experience.

Trust me, Andrzej isnít walking away from his site or if he is, itís not his first choice. Trust me on this.
