Default [pics] White-naped Honeyeater & Silvereye

Another weekend, another visit to Healsville Sanctuary! And of course at this time of the year (June) the weather was uncooperative as usual.

Whenever I head to the Sanctuary I always find myself chasing these little honeyeaters. They are wild birds that are usually found in the canopies of forests & woodlands, however at the Sanctuary dozens of them dart around the enclosures stealing the larger Blue-faced Honeyeaters food. I fired the onboard flash for this capture as the enclosure was quite dark, which helped bring up the lovely olive-yellow plumage.

These pretty little Silvereyes can be found pinching food from the same enclosure as the thieving little White-naped Honeyeaters, although usually only two or three of them at a time. The Silvereyes are more skittish than the honeyeaters as well, & Iím yet to get an image of them Iím completely satisfied with.

Top notch as usual Adam, especially like #1.

(Did you get affected by any of the recent flooding?)
