Dang... I was going to make the jump to the E-5 later this year but now I'm not so sure. The E-620 works just fine for me. It only came out last year and already an "Archived product"?! Surely not. And, what does that mean as far as support?

Hum...

I just got the E-30 and I am getting the EX-25 extension tube today. After that, I will considerer my "kit" completed for a while .... and wait to see what will happen.

I have pretty much what I need from 12 to 300mm and two bodies (including my E-520) ... so the next upgrade will be in the accessories list (filters, better tripod, etc...) .... and I might start looking for an adapter between my lenses and ... another body type

It is not archived, they were working on their website. The e30 and e620 are still current models.

Default Check the Olympus Store:

If you know anyone who is looking to get into a Oly dslr E system at a good price, the Olympus store is currently offering a reconditioned E-600 with both kit lens for only $476.

Also, they are offering a new E-620 with the two kit lens for $50 off at $749.99.

Hi Steven,
Those are good prices. Another source for cameras at rock bottom prices is FourThirdsPhoto.com.

There has been a fire sale going there of late with pricing on E-30 and lenses as low as I've ever seen.

Yes, I've been following that regularly. I wonder if part of the reason for the E-30 at $600-$625 was the fact that everyone thought it was a discontinued camera model. Of course, since Oly has dropped the price of the new E30 to $999.99 will continue to keep the used prices down. I want an E-30, but with the current economy, I don't have that in my discretionary budget.

(By the way, I just bought the 70-300mm from that forum, will be getting it next week. I'll look forward to any tips from you and the gang about using that particular lens.)

Hi Steven,

Just give the 70-300mm some of that good old Florida sunshine, set it to f/08 up to f/12, and it will put a smile on your face.
