Default Whales!

Stopped in to the Bahia Magdelana last week and saw quite a few Grey Whales. No young ones yet, it's still a little early. The Biiig females, you know how big they are when they go under the boat and you realize they're twice the length and more and about 5 times the weight and you hope they don't choose that moment to come up. They are gentle giants however and will sheepherd their young to the boats for some touchy feely time.
Hard to photograph though. they're just big grey lumps in the water. Unless you get a good tail shot, which I didn't.
Here's a couple of attempts at them.

Oh yeh, they have bad breath and a habit of not using a hankerchief when they blow snot!!!!!

Whales are something but of late they found a Hammer head Shark head on Alki Beach up here which is very uncommon to find on a beach one can see that on King5.com in Seattle if they wish to read or see it.. Link http://www.king5.com/news/local/Head...115517464.html

Nice shots Ken,

Looks like you're pulling out all the stops and trying to catch everything before getting home

Yeh, still have a few to size down before posting. We're in Morro Bay tonight after spending the morning at the Mission San Juan Capistrano. Always a neat place to visit over the years and it's well looked after. Hope I got some decent shots.
Trying to slow this trip north as much as pos. Trying (not very hard) to make San Francisco sometime tomorrow.

Hammerheads on Alki!!?? That's pretty cool, what next?

I used to watch them from Redondo as well Bob, we'd work nightshift and go and fish bonito off the rocks there.
