Here is probably my favorite photo of Phil with his dog Casey, in Florida. I took it sitting on the bow
while the boat was going around 35mph. On a flats skiff there's really nothing to hold onto, so I was a bit tenuous and feel fortunate to have captured it.

With an Olympus C-5060-WZ

Well your birthday card shows a guy who looks like he's in his 50's. This photo shows a 72 year old. It makes your birthday card very flattering.

Ted

PS: In the southwest most folks who work outdoors wear long pants and long-sleeved shirts even during hot summers - comfort is less important than avoiding skin cancer (as Senator McCain would tell you). So personally I didn't find his clothing unusual.

Nicely done Zig.
I don't understand the comments about doing this at his age though. You make it sound like 72 means decrepit..

Oh, and I'll make 73 come May Day...I hope.

Hi Ken,

My apologies if I've offended. My intention was not to make Phil out to be an old guy as much as expressing my admiration for a friend who clearly is young at heart.

At 62, my feeling is that 72 is the new 40!!

Hi Bob,

As far as age is concerned, I've always maintained that it's just a number. It's how young you feel not how old you are that's important.

AND, as Gary so aptly puts it: I plan to live forever.

Zig

I agree on the numbers thing Zig, I feel & think very much as I did at 41 and the belt size at 36 is just 2" more than at 41.

I am quite happy to be 73 March 15 and GO PHIL, I like the card.

The profile here reminds me a little bit of Bernard Madoff...

Just about the right age, and I would imagine his hair is probably about that white now, too.

I was wondering who he reminded me of - you got it. Except, of course, that Phil is not pond scum.
