Default Great White Egret in flight

Again went to Tigertail Wildlife Sanctuary. The purpose was actually try and photograph the first flight of an Osprey chick. I've been watching the progress of this chick for the last three weeks and it has reached the point that it is about ready to fly any day. Well, it didn't happen. The chick huffed and puffed and flapped it's wings, jumping up and down. At the end of it all, the chick just plain got pooped and sat down. I'll try and go again tomorrow.

In the meantime, I did have a chance at photographing some other shore birds and actually got some shots at a Great White Egret in flight. They didn't come out as good as the ones recently posted by Greg. None the less, they are about as good (IMHO) as I've done with the E-30.

Hi Bob,

thanks for the kind words. Yes, I too hope that I'm able to get a decent shot of the Osprey's first flight. But I'm just as excited at getting these two images of a Great White Egret in flight this morning.

This has been a wonderful trip for me as far as really getting an opportunity to work on bird photography and getting a better handle of what the E-30 can do.
Hopefully, I'll be able to continue with it when I get back up to the frozen North.

Zig
