Default Some wedding shots

I don't shoot people often mainly because, quite frankly, I suck at it. Here are a few from a friend's wedding. You can see the ones that I thought were relatively acceptable here: http://goo.gl/zOabD

The preacher and spouse

It was rather funny but, the bride made more eye contact with me than she did with the hired photog! hehehe

Nice stuff, Gary! That's definitely the way to be shooting weddings. As the other guy!

Hey Gary

Those are pretty cool and well done mate. Weddings are never easy and at times way too stressful but it looks like you did a fab job.

Cheers

Harj

Hi Gary,

You're a brave man to have accepted the responsibility to be the photographer.
I've never tried to be the chief photographer, although I've been asked to be a roving photographer at a few weddings for friends.

I think that it actually might be easier to do that for someone you don't know. I really want to do the best I can for my friends and sometimes that feeling just gets in the way of things.

Anyways, back to your photos, all really good work. Your friends should be pleased.

Zig

Thanks VERY much, guys. Although, I wasn't asked to shoot it, I brought the Oly w/14-54mm and my DF-383 flash (which I wound up not using very much). I sort of wish I had brought my HS-20EXR just to experiment with. BUT.... ya know what they say, "Wish in one hand..."

Whoa, brave man but you made it look good. I did it but once..... Well I was lucky to have my camera in the car and the couple didn't have a cameraman planned.
They did appreciate it. Nothing as good as yours though.

Thanks very much, Ken. Watching the "pro" work, I got the feeling he was in WAY over his head. He might have been a friend that they asked to shoot it. He looked frustrated, scared, frazzled. Not the sort of thing you want to portray! The bride made eye contact with ME much, much more than she did with the "pro". It *seemed* that after I left a position I was shooting from, the "pro" moved to it immediately and started shooting. Coincidence? Anyways, I'm no wedding photog wannabe. Far from it. Funerals, maybe. Not weddings.

Good job. I have been the backup at a few weddings for friends over the years. I couldn't take that kind of pressure, you don't get a second shot at it unless you were a close friend with Liz Taylor.

I wouldn't want to touch that job with a 10 foot pole. Having to fight with all the point and shoots in the crowd is really not appealing.

Thanks, guys. I didn't have to deal with 'em too much. I put the DF-383 on one time, set it to full, aimed it at the P&Sers, and pushed the test button a few times. They cleared the area when I walked to it after that! heheheh I imagine they were seeing more blue spots than Imelda Marcos has shoes!
