Default 70-300mm lens at 800 speed.

Took some shots at 800 speed, and f6.3, with the E-520 and the 70-300. While the E-520 is not really good above 400, I was relative pleased with the outcome. I had different subjects, but since Ted has said he likes reptile shots, here is a green lizard.

I do. There aren't many reptiles around here, at least ones large enough to be noticed. Those shots are great.

Hi Steven,

Great job!

I love the colors of this little character. I also think you've done a great job of composing the 1st image. The eye being in focus while the rest of his head being slightly out of focus, really makes the viewer look at the lizard's eye.

really well done and another example of the colors that come out of that 'long in the tooth' Kodak ccd sensor.

I personally dont like Lizards, but this photograph makes me to stare at his eyes for a long time. My fav is #1 and could stare at the eyes and color for ever. Wondering what evolution has done for every one in this planet.

Looks like the camera/lens combo handled the ISO800 very well. Nice sharp eye detail, too. Good job, dude!

A tip about technical terms...it's best to use the word "ISO" rather than "speed" because speed could also be confused with shutter speed...some people don't bother with the "1/" for the shutter speed, which is why "speed" can be confused.

Very nice Steven. The 70 300 is no slouch in IQ for a reasonably priced lens. I never have much luck at 800 but these are very nice.
