Default bought an Olympus Evolt E-300 , Please help for this error code

Just bought a second hand Olympus Evolt E-300 from ebay.
Its shutter count is 10600 and I see Error Code 3B83 in its secret code page D.
May somebody help me what does it mean?
And any help about how to check this second hand camera for any defects (Hardware/Software) will be appreciated. I am very new to DSLRs.

It was like this when you bought it? I believe it indicates a borked firmware update... I *think*. Try this:

Turn camera off.
Open C/F door.
Hold OK and MENU button 3 seconds.
"RESET"
Press OK

In fact this works on E-300:

This works on the E-300

1) Set to P mode
2) Open CF card door
3) Switch on
4) Hold Playback+Ok for a few seconds
5) E-300 should display
6) Release and again hold Playback+Ok for 5 seconds
7) Press Ok to reset and turn off camera

BUT it did not solve problem. Error Code is intact

Thanks but my search about this code even in this forum gave no result. If you know any topic about it or any member who had this issue, please share with me.
I scare that it would be serious and miss the opportunity for returning camera.
May I ask you that those member had this error since they got camera as New or later it happened?
Thanks again

Dear Yami,

based on your posts, I take it that the camera is fully functional now. Your concern is that in checking the hidden code pages, you've discovered that the camera had a problem at one time and would like to know what that problem was. Is my understanding correct? or does the camera now not function.

The code page D displays all the latest error codes that occurred since the last time the camera had a problem and needed to be repaired. Here is the explanation of code page D as I understand it:

PAGE 4:
D: Damage Codes
NB: These codes are recorded in 4 digit hexadecimal x 5 occasions; latest occurrence assumes top position. Clear by pressing OK (not advised)
Olympus technicians look here to see what error(s) the camera has recorded
.

Either way, if you are having a problem with your E-300 and cannot get it to function OR would simply like to know what this error code condition actually was, I suggest you contacting the Service group of your local Olympus sales division. I don't recommend you delving into the various submenus trying to find the answer to you question as you can make matters worse.

Thank you
Yes camera works well and because I bought is as second hand and still have opportunity to return it, I am curious to know what was wrong with it. I mailed Olympus Support but not reply yet
Again thanks for paying attention to my post. I feel welcomed among Olympus DSLR users!
