You are a braver man than I to do these type repairs! I'd probably shoot at least two of those screws into the carpet and never find them...

Hah! That's exactly what happened to me when I was installing a ProClip GPS mount in my car - a very small black screw will apparently live in the black carpet for the life of the car...

....y'all did notice the light color micro-fibre towel I used as the work mat, nothing bounced off it and the color diff kept the mini-screws in sight. I've lost plenty fasteners too, but not this time.
