Default On my way to work 6:30 am

After so many missed opportunities I pretty much always have the 510 and 70 300 sitting on the seat next to me when I'm driving around. This morning I saw a flock of turkeys hanging out in an old corn field with some deer and they were still strutting themselves around to impress the ladies. Of course I immediately grabbed the camera, dropped the window, stuck the camera out, started clicking away, but didn't have enough sense to shut off the engine so I had to toss some blurry shots out that would have been nice. But I managed to salvage a couple, boy scout pledge, be prepared : )

5-toms & 1-hen, the fellows are really strutters too, wonder which she chose. These are what opportunistic photography is, very nice captures and the one with the deer is a wonderful image of pure nature. It's fun to be lucky, huh?

Hi Eric,

Someone once said "Luck is the residue of design".

In your case, that couldn't be more appropriate, as you made your 'luck' by being prepared.

Very nice shots. And, the deer in the background, well, that just finishes it perfectly.

Zig

YEAH! That's what I'm talkin' about! Ditto Zig. The missus used to think I was nuts for taking a camera everywhere. She still thinks I'm nuts but not for that reason.

Eric: Dittos!! well done and what great quick shooting. That is definitely taking advantage of the situation.

Eric - those are great. Around here, just when the scenery geets good the temperature inside a car parked outside all day goes well over 100F, and I'm reluctant to keep a camera in the car.
