Default .......back to the lake with the E-3 & 50-200

The past couple mornings I have used the E-3 with the 50-200 to shoot the herons that panhandle for fish at the boat launch & docks. This one gets along fine with the folks who actually fish for bream to feed it.

The bird has been seen to fish on its own but when there is a handout 'ole Red Eye' is quick to pounce. This sequence is of the second fish of three that it 'inhaled' in a 10-minute period. What I found the most interesting is that this fish lay on the dock for just a couple minutes flipping and flopping, the heron spotted it, got it and immediately went to the waters edge where it ducked its head in the water and then slid the fish down its gullet.

These with the E-3 7 50-200 @ ISO 200

That is an interesting series Bob. You were definitely in the right spot at the right time.

I really enjoyed these Bob. But I thought it was so hot out there that fish and birds were frying.

@Steven, totally missed out the first time I saw it, just sat there and watched then got ready for this set.

@Ted, 0700 80F for these, the frying began at 1500 103F..... I was snoozing by sizzle time

It was fun to watch this fellow work the dock looking for handouts, thanks for the comments.
