Well done BoBB, nice series of shots. Really like the #4 shot of the XXXXXXXXXXXX.
(I was going to tell you that was a Black-crowned Night Heron, but the last time that I told you a bird name I got grief from the critics. LOL.

Excellent. Love 2 the light and reflections are cool.
And number 4, good composure and light.
Looks to be a Black-crowned night heron..!

Yeah, 'tis a Black Crowned nighty for sure. These creatures are fun to shoot but enough is enough so next I would like to spot the wild turkeys that inhabit the nature preserve but do need to wait for color fall days to go in there again.

I do thank you all for looking and commenting, I am having fun learning the cameras again.

Thanks Zig, I like the mallards too and the lighting of the heron was created by the early sun shining through a railing along the dock walkway. It made for a nice look.

The early mornings out last week were so fun. We have a 1300 acre park on the north side of Arlington that I am going to work in. The park is very well developed with trails, bikeways, nature science center, lots of wildlife and follows along our Trinity river which is a popular kayaking venue. I may get hooked on River Legacy Park, we will see.
