Default For the birds

It's so dreadfully hot here, I installed a mister for the birds so they don't start dropping dead. Easy to do and doesn't require a lot of water, either. Provides an interesting background, too.

.........good for you Gary and thanks for doing that.

Hot here too, now 20-days running @ 100+, topping at 105F true, the heat index off that is just miserable. I've been going out at 0530-0600 to the nature parks and lake so I can be home by 0930, it is usually 90-95 by then.

That was a very quick bird...

You mist scene looks a lot like looking out of my window right now. Damp...and way under 70 here. Summer hasn't reached the northwest this year. Don't think I'll swap though.

Gary - I don't have a lot of experience with birds in this kind of weather. Is a birdbath a good thing?

(There's a lot of natural water around here.)

Thanks, y'all!

@ Ted - a birdbath is a lifesaver in this weather! As you can imagine, natural water quickly grows algae, mosquito larvae, and if it's not cleaned the feces of birds and other animals pollutes it.

Come on down to Florida, we are the coolest state in the eastern US now.
It's 78 now on my Lanai as I'm sitting out here watching TV.
