Hi and thank you all very very much for the kind words and support.

It's very gratifying to me to first, get validation that I'm doing something right
by having one my images chosen as being good enough to grace the front page of a website that reaches people around the world. It's actually, quite staggering, when you think about it.

Secondly and more important to me, is that over time, I've come to feel as if I know each of you as friends-not simply people sharing a hobby(though, there's nothing wrong with that either).

I continue to visit other photography sites, discussion forums, etc .
and can honestly say, that I really prefer the atmosphere here. You make it easy to keep coming back.

Best regards to all
Zig

Yes, well said Zig, you speak for a lot of us who share the same feeling.
This forum has always seemed like home here, no matter how many others are visited. I think it is due to the quality of the individuals who post on here. (Even including Ted and Scouse. LOL ) And your POTD is well deserved.

(I have to admit that I've never thought about the huge viewing audience of the POTD until you just now pointed that out. Now you have actually made me a little nervous, as I have entered a few shots in the past, and been lucky enough to have been picked once in a while. )

Hey Ken, how can we help Steven get over his jealousy of us former warriors?

Help him...!!! Y'know he was a really nice person until he hit the jackpot in the form of POTD. First time he received the honour, you could see that he was setting himself aside from the hoi poloi. Second time, well.....I believe his poop stopped smelling as he stepped up on his ivory tower... Dodging aligators on the way up.

In fact though, I still think that he's the real deal. You two take some really good photographs. I just shoot the moment and hope they come out. We do have some good people posting here and excellent togs.
