Default Trip to the store..!

I offered to do the trip to the store yesterday afternoon just to pick up a couple of dinner items. Just happened to have the camera in the back of the car. What reminded me was the your deer at the bottom of the driveway nonchalantly watching the comings and goings up our road.
Driving past Triangle Cove I wondered if they old east coast catboat was still in the cove, I thought even on a cool blustery grey day it'd be fairly photogenic.
She looked really sad and run down though, I doubt she's been off the dock in 3 years, what a shame. Did try a few photos though. The cove is a vee shaped inlet almost closed off with a sandbar. Some people have built some expensive homes on the sand there. Remember the 3 little piggies...? In the southerly winter storms they been known to have extra logs in the living room.

Anyway, I took a few snaps just to show the difference in the colours since Monday at deception Pass.

Nice shots Ken. Talk about building houses on sand!!!. And it looks like if there was anykind of storm surge the bottom floors would be flooded. Wonder how much their homeowners insurance costs??

Really nice, Ken! I'm with Steve on this. I'd imagine flood insurance is unobtainable. heheheh

Believe me they have flooded, most have a full concrete basements now just to store their toys, so when the water does come it'll dry out easier. Insurance is an issue. as is the damage from when the sea plays "tossing the caber" in the front yard. I'll get a shot of the piles of driftwood out there next time out. It's not known as "Driftwood Shores for naught.

A lot of the older homes are bought up...just to knock down and build bigger places.
All you need is money, a problem I don't have..

Nice shots. I can't imagine owning a home so open and susceptible to all the elements but it must be great when the weather is nice.
Love the deer, reminds me of here. They just hang out and people watch .

I agree both with the nice shots and with the location of those houses. I'd love a home with a water view but I want the rear to be an escape route in a bad storm.

Ken,

Those are very nice series, the first one is a great catch.

Looks like you have a lot of photo opportunities there.

Thank you for posting.
