Default Xmas Eve Sky

Sharon was setting the table for our mail meal of the holidays, Xmas Eve, when I saw the sun setting though the trees.

Thought I'd grab a couple of shots before the call for dinner.

Tomorrow, Sharon has decreed that we're going in search of the Snowy Owl, Several have been spotted up near the Canadian border. Hopefully I'll have something more interesting to show (don't hold your breath) tomorrow.

Thanks Bob, the owl idea was a bust but we had a good day out, complete with turkey sandwiches...(the first )

I got really wild and windy out on the sound and the Snowy Owls like hunting the estuary flats. So windy that container ships were anchoring in the lee of the islands rather than face the Straits of Juan da Fuca...then came the rain.

A grand day out.

Some days turn thataway and can become ones to long remember. Seen a few like that, one which was 50-yrs Christmas Day for me and I remember that day well.

Maybe next time for the owl, never have seen one personally.

Very beautifull pictures Ken.
Looks you had there +/- the same weather we had here, was totaly no Christmass feeling. Sunny and 12c, normaly it should be at least -3c with ice and snow.
Feels like the climate here is changing for sure.
Thanks you for sharing and I must say you life in a very beautifull region.
