Maybe boring plumage, but in many religions including Christianity the dove has traditionally sympolized innocence, gentleness, faith, marital affection, and peace. (Pigeons, not so much. ) I could never understand why people like to shoot them.

You captured them well.

You captured them well.
I have a hunter friend and he shoots them with regularity. Believe it or not, they taste good the way his wife prepares them and they are meatier than you'd expect. And, I imagine that left uncontrolled they would do some real damage to crops.

I love mourning doves. We have had two pairs visit us for several years and they are such special birds. One is always near the other as they forage below the feeders for seeds. Yours are (as usual) beautifully captured.

Thanks, Angie! I have a FLOCK of 'em hit the feeding station & surrounding area a couple times a day. Every once-in-a-while it gets thinned out by a cat or hawk, though.
