I agree with Bob, looks like Gigi is a Main Coon.

Thanks for the feedback on the breed, Bob and Marcelo. When I look at what Wikipedia says about the personality of a Maine Coon, that fits Gigi to a T.

She's starting to trust me enough that in the near future I think I can risk taking her to our Vet without her deciding I can't be trusted anymore. If she's not spayed we need to do that since she spends her days outdoors.

Ted

......yep, because Gigi is mature it will pay to earn her full trust first.

We took Autumn to our vet the first day we took her in; she was approx 90-days and has had regular visits every 6-months with 30-day preventive treatment for heart worm and crawly parasites.

We had her spayed at what we thought to be 9-months and gave her one(1) bath that did not go well. She is brushed each day, allows me to keep her claws trimmed in check and pretty much is happy it seems....

Bonnie & I are very happy about Autumn.

......a recent mug shot

....and her 'Lady Cat' repose

Great photos - Autumn is a cutie. I remember you posted a photo of her taking a walk, a while ago.

But let me get this straight - you gave her a bath? Did it go like this?

....we did give her a bath, I told Bonnie that if we were to give Autumn a bath every couple days beginning with Autumn being a kitten that in time she would be ok with it (...kind of like that 'trick' of picking up the bovine calf twice-a-day until it weighed 1000 lbs.). I fell for that too as a kid on the farm.

So we gave Autumn a bath, your photo is pretty much a good idea of how Autumns ONLY bath was.

I did break her to leash and we walked about 2-blocks every day in our neighborhood until the weather temps started heating up..... deciding enough of it and Autumn was not benefiting we stopped. This is a video (Oly C7070WZ) of one of our leash walks, the one you recalled.

Show the video to Gigi and she just may like it as a way of being outdoors more.

Bob, even now I'm still amazed - I just have never seen a cat on a leash before. If I had to bet, it would be that she actually feels more secure knowing you're at the other end of the leash. Thanks for the reminder of the link.

BTW that cat-over-a-bath photo I included, shows up pretty commonly on the Internet. I don't know who created it but it's international now.
