Default "So you thought your desk was for working?"

"Nope! It's for me to move all your stuff around and get comfortable."

But Gigi is a cutie, int she?

She's come a long way from the abandoned cat we took in back in December.

Thanks for looking.

Great shots, Ted. She has that total contentment look.

Thanks, Gary. She's getting comfortable enough that she's not as cameraphobic as she was. But the telling point is that she often curls up on the bookshelf next to the desk and goes to sleep with her back towards me.

How cute! The cat definitely looks comfortable now as a domesticated house cat. You have done a good job letting her adapt to the home.

She still wants to be outside during the day when we're not home, but wants to be in when we get home.

.....good for you & Gigi, she is beautiful and looks to be Maine Coon.

Our Autumn (Grey Maine Coon) now 4-yrs is beginning to trust us, loving times are still on her terms; lap time has now increased to nearly 1-minute, every once in a while, but never on her own. She sleeps approx 18-20 hrs every day, sometimes NEARBY.

Gigi & Autumn are lucky cats

Maine Coon? Interesting - I don't know anything about cat breeds.

That's why I don't think Gigi is a feral cat - I think she was abandoned. She adapted to being in the house and to getting attention from me very quickly. I think some animals are just more friendly than others, and you're probably doing very well with Autumn especially if she started life as a feral cat.

Well, now that Gigi trusts me she wants a lot of lap time. And the first time I tried to lift her off of my lap because I had things to do, she wasn't ready to leave my lap and that's when I learned that denim doen't provide much of a barrier to cat claws. So as the saying goes, be careful about what you pray for.

Amen. Most animals live in a constant state of fear.
