Default Another Gaggle

My daughters in from China for a couple of days, so we joined the Easter throngs and had a grand lazy day touring the NW. Best weather we've had so far this year.

We were the only ones around when the geese came in and met this interesting guy who came while we were shooting. I'd seen the pick up with the exemp plates on and figured he was wildlife. He was, but "Russian." Introduced himself as Vasilly from the Siberian Wildlife, following the paths of the Snowgeese. What a job huh! Nice guy nice telescope looking for tags and a really nice Cannon with one of those big grey lenses to die for.

I surprised him by saying I was Ken from Liverpool.

We wandered up to Bowman Bay for a picnic. Yeh, Ham Sandwiches!!! and enjoyed the day in the sun.

One more goose pic.
Then we found this wild orchid hiding by the trailside.
Bird sactuary Island with the Olympics as a backdrop.
A fun one of a Kayaker in the sun
and a final shot of Bowman bay.

Dittos Ken. All are nice. You obviously had a good time, and I'm glad your daughter is visiting. I think #3 and the flower shot are my favorites.

Thanks Gary and Steven, nice day out all in all. The best shots seem to be the unexpected finds, don't they?
Hmm, I'm not doing that orchid justice, it's as far away as I could focus (tippy toed) but in reality it's only the size of my thumb, up to the first knuckle. A really delicate flower.

Great set of photos, Ken.

I haven't been to Liverpool but I have been to Birmingham - a business trip many years ago. Got to see Warwick Castle which was a real treat, although maybe not the dungeon... One of the docents there was surprised that a yank knew a lot about Sir Winston Churchill.

Birmingham! Oh you lucky man.... Glad you got out to see Warwick Castle though (you'll know that it's really Warrick.) Pretty countryside out that way as well. Birmingham.....shudder!

If you do make it out here, I'd be happy to show you around Marcelo. I have a feeling you'd like it.

Perhaps some Peeking Duck. Probably pretty tough.
