Default And now for something I have never seen before

A Canada Goose nesting up in an old rotting tree
She was only about 15 ' from me and only about 6' up.
I did not want to get too close
Thats the best I could do with a cloudy sky and in a very shady forest.
70-300 lens
f 7.1 ISO 800 shutter 640 hand held

Wow... that's a great capture Fred.

What an unusual place for nesting.

Dang! Good catch, Fred! That's the last place I'd expect to look for a Canada.

Dittos Fred. Really unusual find and you captured it well. Good shot.

Good photo and good eye, Fred. Who would expect a goose in a tree?

I had to google that one myself.

They occasionally do this to stay off the ground from predators.
dogs and coyotes
They some times use abandoned large bird nests
