Default Scrim Testing

These were shot in BRILLIANT sunlight. I used a homemade scrim made from a very thin layer of shipping foam (it was in the box with the AdoramaPix print) and some black foamcore. In the past, I've attempted to use a photographer's shoot-through umbrella. And, while the images were mediocre at best, I think this homemade scrim does the job perfectly. I had my assistant (the missus) hold the scrim. See what you think.

Nice shots Gary. Good composition and color. Did you shoot any comparison shots in full sunlight?

Thanks, Steve. Yes, I did. And, trashed each and every one of 'em as they were nasty bad.

I find that hard to believe. I think you are just prejudiced against sunshine. LOL

Really nice shots Gary. Sharp and great color.

I think I used that scrim on the first two cars I owned to cover the broken windows : )

LOL! I had one beater where the shift lever broke off and I attached vice grips to shift the transmission. Oddly I never felt the need to lock that car.

Gary, I like the lighting on those shots. It feels like the flowers are underneath a tree canopy but there are some shadows so it doesn't look like a cloudy day.
