Indeed a very good image Steven. This plane was flying pretty low or do you live near an airport?

Thanks for your comments Bob, Ted, and Lordje. The C-117 is an interesting aircraft, a very advanced and capable cargo plane. I took this just after takeoff on one of my visits to MacDill Air Force base in Tampa.

One heckuva catch, Steve! Lots of nice detail upon close inspection.

Thanks Gary. Credit the detail to the 50-200mm lens. It is an excellent choice for aircraft photos.

Thanks Harj. Yes, you need to catch the airshow this year. I'm sure you will get some great shots. I have found the E-3 and 50-200mm a good combination for the flying portions. The 12-60mm for the ground displays, and the 50-200 for the aerial portions and you will be ready for all the action. When is the Duxford show?

Don't they have the airshow at Upper Heyford anymore, Harj?
