Default backyard Hawk

I was working in my front yard this morning, and walked to the backyard to get something. As I rounded the corner, there was a young hawk sitting on top of my lanai. He then took off, but only flew to my next door neighbor's roof. so in I went, picked up the E-3 and he was still there. Got a few shots before he flew away.

I agree with the above, but have to ask: were you working hard, or hardly working?

Thanks to all for looking and your comments guys. Much appreciated.

Yes, ramcewan, it appears to be a red-shouldered hawk. They are very common in the woods around here.

LOL. At my age, "hardly working" is probably closer to the truth when I'm "working" in the yard.

Well I'm curious because when I walk out the door carrying a camera and claim to be "working in the yard", Linda is not that easily fooled.

Nice set Steven. You can see the sequence.
Quick grab a shot before it goes.
Still there, let's slow it down and steady up.
Not leaving yet, let me close it down a bit.

LOL. If Sharon had seen me, I'm sure she would have made a comment. But I do it so often, I think she is use to it by now.
