Default MotorExpo 2012 a few pics ..

Last weekend, I got to go to the motorexpo 2012 car show held at Canary Wharf. I came away thinking way too many people around the cars, I don;t know how to take car pics and 14mm aka 28mm FF isn;t wide enough for motors.

Most taken with the E3+14-54, with the beastie taking a rest and staying in the bag. Converted from RAW to Jpeg via LR4

The rest of the pics are here:

The Maclaren F1 car got me with how low it is off the ground and what an amazing feat of engineering it is. Best car .. I think had to be the Jag F type while the new SL 6.3 AMG merc sounded seriously fab! I finally got to sit in an AMG - the C63 and I'm glad I did as I now know how much of a step up from my old C class in terms of comfort it is.

One thing I noted was that the OOC Jpegs were all 5-7MB at the most where as the RAW-JPG files are 8-18MB in size.. I still can't believe that LR generated an 18.8MB jpeg although Smugmug seems to have compressed it down to 14.8.

Cheers

Harj

I enjoyed your photos, Harj. Question: is WO Bentley turning over in his grave with a car that color bearing his name?

Well done harj; enjoyed looking at the Smugmug pics. Some really neat cars there, and you captured them very artistically.

Pure sex Harj. Good results for what you had to work with. (People are the biggest problem.) Sounds like you had a grand day out and sounds like you need that 9-18.

Thanks for the comments guys... I think that was my second car show in 5-6 years and I was only aware of it by accident. I'm seriously thinking the 9-18 would be the right lens at Goodwood...

And if you like airshows, capturing aircraft on the ground. (Just so you know it wouldn't be a frivolous purchase. )
