Default Couple quick flower shots.

So I picked up a 14-54mm F2.8/3.5 and it came in today. I grabbed a couple quick shots in the back yard before heading off to work.

I think this is some kind of Lilly

And this one I am unsure of. We have a huge one next to the house.

I must say that this lens way better then the kit lens so far. And this camera is a dream with the big and bright view finder. These shots are right out of the camera. Large SF .jpgs. My E-500 is going to end up collecting dust.

I forgot to ask. What are you guys using to resize your pics?

Hey! Don't be knocking the old 500...

I like that first one a lot. Really pops out at you and with a nice bokah.

For simple size conversion I just use Picasa. Simple, free! download from Google. (scroll though their more stuff list) Pick your shots, do a little pp, and export them in the size you want. I use 800 or 1200.

Another free and simple one is PIXresizer.

Nice shots StretchMak. That lens is really good, you have a nice combo that you will enjoy.

(FYI: that flower in #2 is a hydrangea.)

I forgot to mention, get an account at an internet site like Smugmug, and you don't have to resize your shots, because you just post a link to them and they display automatically without the size restriction.

Maybe I am misunderstanding. I have a hosting site already. If I post a link to the pics they will be to big for here. Does smugmug reszie them for you?

No need to resize when it is just a link. The image that appears still remains on the hosting site, it just displays here on the forum, so the forum size restriction does not apply.

For example, don't know which site you use, but with Smugmug there is a share option called "get a link" and it gives you the option of the size to display on the other site. You click copy on the size, then come back to the forum and then in your reply box icon rows look for the little square icon with the mountain on it. That is the "insert image" icon. When you click on it, it opens a box where you simply paste your copied link. Simply do your Control+V and it copies the link, and your photo will appear.

For example, I will insert an image here, and while you see the photo, it is actually still residing on my website, not Steves Digicams, so the size limit does not apply.
