Default Paralympics Buildings....

I was really hoping to have been able to walk and document the entire Olympic park but wasn't able to do so on Saturday ... and I'm kicking myslef as there won;t be another chance for the next 1-2 years as they begin to tear down and remodel the park (its crazy you'd think they would wait 3 months to allow the millions and esp the locals a chance to see the stadiums as they were for the games).

1. Welcome to the Paralympic Games .. Stratford

2. The Olympic stadium and the Orbit Tower

3. The Orbit Tower

4.. Inside the stadium

The Aquatic Centre

Good photos, Harj. That architecture is pretty strange - like an alien invasion. How have Londoners reacted to it?

Hi Guys

I personally until I got up close to the Orbit Tower have not liked it one bit. From a distance it looks like crap and thats from any angle but up close and in the park, it does look better. I still don;t like it that much as I think that any long term monument should have been outstanding and look good from any distance... where as the Orbit Tower looks as if its collapsed roller coaster ride..

Heres a couple of more closeups...

I really wanted to see the velodrome as thats a work of art and so is the Aqua centre (its sides are encased in temp blocks so they could up the capacity to 10k-14k). The Basketball stadium was a temporary structure which the Brasilians wanted to take back with them for Rio 2016 but they've changed their minds. The Hockey stadium where the blind football took place is being rellocated closer to home, .. down to Eaton Manor where the wheelchair tennis took place.

Hey Pascal

The two pano's are both made up of 4 pics stitched together by MS ICE ... its a pretty cool bit of free software from MS .. and perfect for doing pano's.
