Default Catching some autum sun.

These guys were taking a well earned rest after scarfing up all the bird seed yesterday morning!

Had a hard time stalking them they looked like they were ready to bolt....Yawn!!!
I actually had to put my slippers on and go out onto the deck. I was thinking cammo paint and a ghillie suit (If ya don't know, then google it) but managed to forgo that.

Last one is interesting, I was to lazy to put the suit back on!!! and go outside so shot through the dining room window. 2 layers of e-glass makes a difference to the colour.

Resting on a bed of autum leaves.

E500 70-300 at full stretch.

....that is just awesome, no deer laying around back yards in Texas, they've all become skitterish because the 'season' is on, same with the wild turkeys.

There aren't many places in Texas where deer hang out in yards anyway unlike the feral hogs which are a nuisance.

It seems that I have overlooked this post, sorry.
Nice pictures you made Ken, did you manage to take these handheld with the 70-300 at it's max? I do not know this lens and still wonder what is best. The 50-200 + ec-20 or buying a 70-300.

The 50-200 is by all reports a superior lens, but with the 70-300 you get a lot of lens for the money. One does have to get used to it and know what it can do or not.
Look a my spitfire and birds in flight pics.
